Driving by to Boca Chica Beach, across from the SpaceX launch pad, we observed a questionable looking pickup truck with tarps extended out for shade. After our beach excursion taking pictures of the Booster 9 and Ship 25 stack, we headed back out. Driving by again we couldn’t ourselves, we stopped and questioned what was this? Turns out that these folks were just more SpaceX Superheavy fans like we are. Calvin greeted us and filled us in about his camp aptly named “Base Camp Zero”. He gave us a keepsake consisting of a photo button of Booster 7 & Ship 21? stack and on the flip side a little piece of a heat tile! This made our visit! We have been chatting Calvin ever since. If you are visiting Starbase please be sure to say hello, it will be worth your time.

After traveling down from Canada, Calvin and the Base Camp Zero gang welcomed me to SpaceX Starbase Texas as if we were friends back at home. It was an absolute pleasure to meet people full of the same excitement, enthusiasm and passion for everything space and SpaceX related and I am grateful for having the privilege to do so.
I cannot say enough good things about Calvin and the great people at Base Camp Zero. Due to your dedication to not only educating but inspiring people to share your truly infectious love of space and space travel, my family and I will be forever grateful for all that you have done for us and making our experience at SpaceX Starbase, truly special.
If you are into space and SpaceX, this is THE PLACE to be for a once in a life-time experience. When you get to the orbital launch pad, look for Base Camp Zero and you will be greeted with the most friendly people, with the same like-mindedness of anyone who is passionate about SpaceX or rockets in general!
Hope to see you all at IFT3, let's light this candle.

What a unique opportunity to camp next to Starship! We couldn't believe how beautiful is the location, a stone throw from the beach. If you go, there is a good chance you will meet the unofficial host of Starbase, Calvin! He is a great person full of enthusiasm, and information for the SpaceX fans like us! Go see the biggest rocket on earth, that will attempt to take humans to Mars one day. SpaceX Rocks!

Went there and met of bunch of rocket enthusiasts from all over the world. Very refreshing to be able to talk about anything space, without anyone rolling their eyes!!! They are basically an Ad Hoc group of fun nerds. Drop by, say hello, and become one of them. Special call out to Calvin, the official host.
